Who we are

The group has its origins when the Agricultural Training Board began. Things have changed a lot since then and several groups have amalgamated to form Lincoln Rural Training. We train approximately 450 trainees each year. The courses range from half day updates through a variety of one-day course suited to our Agricultural business’s, to 20 day BASIS Crop Protection awards. We operate with a committee of farmers and a training organiser who co-ordinates the work required to organise the programme of courses each year. Feel free to ask for courses throughout the year, whenever needs arise. Funding is applied for when it becomes available to limit the impact of cost for participants. You are welcome to ring and discuss your particular training requirements and staff development needs to find the best solution for you with regard to timing, location and costs.

What we do

We strive to make sure your training is high quality, relevant to your needs and cost effective. We don’t cut corners, we use trusted instructors and awarding bodies to ensure you receive the best training available.

We understand the pressures of releasing staff, and the difficulties facing the industry. We will work with you to organise and complete the training courses you have requested.

Funding

The training group is awaiting the news of a major round of funding for eligible businesses to access. There will, I am sure be the same types of high level management training we have had in the past to capitalise on increasing the profitability and expertise in our counties agricultural enterprises. It is anticipated that the funding could be set at the previous level of 70% although this is not confirmed.
